1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Careoo (“the Service”), operated by Careoo (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By creating an account or using any part of the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use Careoo.

2. Description of Service

Careoo is a personal health organisation tool that helps individuals and their caregivers manage medical documents, medications, appointments, and health records. Core features include:

• AI-powered extraction of information from photographed medical documents
• A personal care timeline and calendar for health records
• Daily medication checklist with morning, noon, and night toggles
• Push notification reminders for medications and appointments
• Temporary read-only share links for sharing health summaries

3. Not Medical Advice

AI-extracted information from your documents may contain errors or omissions. You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of any extracted data against your original documents. Do not rely on Careoo as the sole source of truth for your medication schedules, dosages, or medical instructions.

4. Eligibility

You may use Careoo only if:

• You are at least 16 years of age
• You have a valid invite code (during invite-only periods)
• You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
• Your use complies with all applicable laws and regulations

5. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your login details with others. You agree to notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.

All activity that occurs under your account is your responsibility. We are not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorised use of your account where you have failed to keep your credentials secure.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Careoo only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

• Upload documents or images that belong to another person without their explicit consent
• Attempt to access other users' data or accounts
• Use the Service to store documents containing information about third parties without their knowledge or consent
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service
• Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service
• Use the Service in any way that could damage, overburden, or impair it
• Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or violates any third-party rights

7. Health Data & Privacy

You understand and acknowledge that Careoo processes sensitive health information. By using the Service, you consent to our processing of your health data as described in our Privacy Policy.

You represent that any medical documents you upload are your own records or records of individuals for whom you have legal authority to manage (e.g. as a parent or legal guardian). You must obtain appropriate consent before uploading any third party's health information.

8. Share Links

When you generate a share link, you are solely responsible for who you share it with and how it is used. Careoo share links provide read-only access to a summary of your health record for 24 hours. We are not responsible for any consequences arising from you sharing a link with an unintended recipient.

Do not share links via unsecured channels or with parties you do not fully trust. Once shared, we cannot prevent a recipient from further distributing the link before it expires.

9. AI-Powered Features

Careoo uses artificial intelligence to extract and summarise information from medical document images. You acknowledge that:

• AI extraction is automated and may produce inaccurate or incomplete results
• Document images are transmitted to a third-party AI provider (OpenAI) for processing
• You are responsible for reviewing all AI-extracted data for accuracy
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of AI-generated content

10. Intellectual Property

Careoo and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without our express written permission.

You retain ownership of all documents and data you upload. By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and process it solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

11. Availability & Changes

We aim to keep Careoo available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after updated Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the changes. We recommend reviewing these Terms periodically.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Careoo and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

• Loss or corruption of health data
• Errors in AI-extracted medical information
• Missed medications or appointments
• Any harm arising from reliance on information displayed by the Service
• Unauthorised access to your data resulting from a breach beyond our reasonable control

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Careoo and its operators from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Australia. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Careoo shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
